ABU DHABI, 27th August, 2022 (WAM) – The Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK), the educational authority for the emirate of Abu Dhabi, has launched a number of initiatives to promote quality education in the UAE. The initiative includes a Teachers Hotline, a direct communication channel for Abu Dhabi’s private and charter schools’ teachers to share their suggestions and opinions, have questions answered, as well as voice any concerns they may have.
The initiative is also multi adek aimed at promoting competitive learning and teaching methods, to help students prepare themselves for the challenges of the 21st century. It is aligned with the UAE’s Vision 2021, which aims to provide a comprehensive education system that prepares young people for global opportunities and develops their leadership skills to contribute towards a successful economy.

ADEK is also responsible for monitoring and evaluating education authorities in the emirate. It provides guidance to schools on their performance and conducts annual inspections of the emirate’s educational infrastructure.
In addition, the department organises educational events and competitions to promote the teaching of critical thinking, creative thinking, and entrepreneurial skills in the young generation. The annual Young Adipec programme, for example, is designed to introduce high school students to the different career options available in the oil and gas industry.
ADEK is also responsible for ensuring that the education sector in Abu Dhabi is fully compliant with UAE laws and regulations. It is also responsible for establishing a competency-based framework to monitor the performance of educational institutions and ensure that students are well-equipped to meet the challenges of the future.
